Raise your hand if you are a Quitter!
Quitter’s Day. Yep. It’s a thing. The second Friday of January is known as Quitter’s Day. For all those hopeful and determined people who were so committed to those New Years Resolutions....it took less than two weeks to quit.
Ah yes, the New Year’s Resolution. Whether it is a fitness, business or personal goal... we are told at the beginning of each new year that THIS IS OUR CHANCE! Our ONE chance to start the new year out on the right foot.
Really? Because if you are anything like me, I crashed over the holiday break. Sickness hit my house. Cheese ruled my world. Vegetables were optional. My house looked like a Christmas tornado hit. And NOW...NOW you want me to engage in such a pivot that I go from living in my robe-wearing, child-ruling life to living my best, healthiest and most organized life simply because of a date on the calendar? Sorry, but no.
There is not just one chance to reach or even start your goals. Life is messy and complicated. You do your best each day. Doing your best may look different on each day based on what life throws at you.
So, celebrate Quitters Day as a chance to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward. The finish line isn’t a date on the calendar; it’s the ongoing pursuit of becoming your best self.
